The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department issued an alert this week regarding a "long-awaited" milling and resurfacing project from Route 6 to Route 52 and Route 6 to Route 312 that is scheduled to begin on June 11.
The New York State Department of Transportation said the project is expected to last between three and five weeks, with work taking place during the day and at night, weather permitting.
“As we have been told by the NYSDOT Project Engineer, be prepared for some traffic inconveniences, loud noises, dust, dirt and general frustrations,” The Sheriff’s Department posted.
“However, please remember, as with most construction renovations, the outcome will be well worth it. The safety of our residents, our local businesses, school schedules and emergency services have all been discussed as to keeping the impact of the project at a minimal.”
